settle

About the company

In 2003 the council homes in North Hertfordshire were transferred to a new housing association with the aim of improving tenants’ homes and creating the capability to build more affordable housing.

In 2018 we became settle. The change reflects how we have evolved as an organisation with a clear identity and a passion for delivering more high-quality affordable homes. As the name suggests we want customers to be able to settle – to find somewhere they can establish themselves, create a life, a community and prosper.

Being a good business: a business that knows the cost and value of everything. Really effective governance driving a focus on efficiency and effectiveness balancing development, service delivery and our social purpose.

Driving efficiency: targeting year on year cost base efficiencies across housing management, maintenance and business activity.

Investing in assets: a fully funded investment programme in existing properties to ensure they are good quality homes that reflect customers’ needs.

Social purpose

We are ambitious about producing a surplus to ensure that we balance good services, new homes with delivering our social purpose.

At settle we’re committed to working in an environmentally sustainable way across all that we do. This is reflected in our ambitious sustainability strategy which shows how we will play our part in the national programme to decarbonise our economy, support residents in fuel poverty and invest in green spaces within our neighbourhoods.

We are committed to all our new homes achieving EPC Band B as standard and are aiming for 25% of our properties to achieve an EPC Band B by 2030, greatly reducing our carbon output.
